Aircel launches international roaming in Myanmar

Aircel went on to become the first network provider from India to collaborate with Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications or MPT in order to introduce international roaming facility in this country. The agency in question is run by the nation’s Ministry of Communications, Posts and Telegraphs and is the only telecom operator in the said region.

All those who use the service provider’s post-paid connections will be able to make the most of the new offering. But it should be noted that pre-paid customers will not be eligible for the service. The rates for making calls from the country have also been detailed. According to the company, those who use their Aircel numbers to call someone in Myanmar will have to fork out Rs 55 for a minute.

Furthermore, outgoing calls to any number in India will result in customers on international roaming, paying Rs 80 per minute. And as far as the incoming charges are concerned, all the calls that users decided to answer will have them paying Rs 60 for one minute.

According to the Chief Marketing Officer, Anupam Vasudev, the telecom company is dedicated towards offering different types of services in order to keep users connected at all times, no matter where they are. He also added that a large number of people have been travelling to the nation for various reasons including work and leisure, which seems to have prompted the operator to launch these plans. They should appreciate the service that is dedicated towards offering benefits exclusively to them.

The carrier in question is not the only one who has announced new plans for attracting more customers. Only recently, Vodafone and Airtel slashed their 2G data tariff rates in select states in India to encourage more people to adopt mobile internet. The former reduced its charges by up to 80 percent, while the latter introduced 90 percent price cuts.

Aircel has revealed that international roaming will be available in most of the key destinations in Myanmar.
