Prepaid mobile customers in India are always ready for lucrative offers, and this new one from Aircel proves to be just that. Claiming to have slashed the local calling rates in New Delhi by a whopping 90 percent, the network provider has managed to bring out two fresh plans which deliver significant value for money. Such cheap plans could spark off a trend which would compel other operators to introduce new schemes as well.
Aircel has announced through a press release that the 90 percent reduction in calling rates has come by means of two rate cutters that can be availed of by people residing in the Indian capital. The first one costs Rs 27, and offers all local calls at 10p/min for the first 100 minutes. After this time has elapsed, the rate goes up to 40p/min. This plan’s validity has been kept locked at 21 days.
Another rate cutter will be made available for just Rs 11, and it will enable customers to make all local Aircel to Aircel calls at 10p/min. This plan will be valid for 15 days from the date of activation. Anil Gupta, who’s the regional manager for the North at Aircel has called these plans the ‘best value for money products’ for those who buy them.
He also mentioned that the company has particularly aimed these new plans at the student community. And with them having been made available only in Delhi by Aircel for now, we wonder how long it will take for them to be doled out in other territories.
