Acer Iconia Tab A510 revealed, brings ICS and Tegra 3

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 has been unveiled as the company’s first slate with a Tegra 3 quad core processor to be released in the U.S. Apart from this, the manufacturer also highlights the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system being used in the device.

The tab is embedded with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core chip with a 4-Plus-1 design, where the fifth core acts as a battery saver. This is accompanied by a 12-core GeForce Nvidia GPU, 1GB RAM, plus a 9800mAh battery. The slate is said to survive up to 12 hours of video playback. It is also equipped with a 10.1-inch, 10-point touch, WXGA capacitive screen which displays visuals in an HD resolution of 1280 x 800p.

For individuals who demand productivity from handheld gadgets, the A510 comes pre-loaded with Polaris Office 3.5, which can be used Microsoft Office as well. The software is capable of reading as well as editing several document formats so that all important files can be accessed on-the-go. And there’s the inclusion of Acer Print to allow for wireless printing.

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 price for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada is $449.99. It can be paired with a protective case from the company, which will retail for $39.99.
