Acer Iconia Tab A110 up for grabs in Canada and the US

The Acer Iconia Tab A110, which seems like a tough competitor of the Google Nexus 7, has been put up for sale in the US and Canada. Much like the aforementioned Google tablet, the slab in question tags along the Jelly Bean operating system and a quad core processor.

Based on the Android 4.1 platform, the device’s front panel comes draped in a WXGA display which provides a multi-touch real estate of 7 inches. Accompanying this screen is a front-mounted webcam, which can be used for the purpose of clicking images, recording videos and even engaging in video conferencing. A microphone has also been embedded into the device.

Resting snugly under the hood, is a 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor which teams up with 1GB of RAM support multiple operations at the same time. Besides the powerful chipset, the Iconia Tab A110 is integrated with a 12-core Nvidia GeForce GPU as well as a standard lithium-ion polymer battery to keep the device charged for a long time.

The device which was announced a couple of weeks ago, arrives drenched in the shade of grey and boasts of features like stereo sound, GPS and Bluetooth amongst others. Additionally, there is Wi-Fi as well as a microUSB 2.0 port and a microHDMI connector. A card slot has also been added to increase the memory of this 8GB slab.

The Acer Iconia Tab A110 is priced at $229.99 in the US and is available for $199.99 through Future Shop in Canada.
