The newest arrival from Acer’s stable is the Iconia Smart S300 smartphone which was launched in India yesterday. Powered by Android Gingerbread, the company says that this device not only serves as a smartphone, but can also function optimally as a tablet.
This handset comes equipped with a 4.8-inch multi-touch capacitive display screen featuring a resolution of 1024 x 480p and a 21: 9 aspect ratio. It apparently lets users experience Panoramic cinema and LED TV technology while on the go. Running on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the Acer Iconia Smart S300 is adorned with wavy patterns on its metal casing, lending it a stylish touch. Embedded with an 8MP rear and a 2MP front facing camera, this device offers users an option of seven different homescreens which can be customized according to individual taste.
S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India stated, “Today, consumers are extremely technology savvy and depend heavily on that one gadget which more often than not is usually their smartphone. Acer’s Iconia Smart is the perfect accessory for both technology enthusiasts and fashion conscious consumers.”
The S300 claims to be apt for multimedia and gaming experiences with its six axis motion sensing and dual display features. Users are allowed to connect the handset to a TV via HDMI and enjoy a large screen gaming and entertainment experience. Additionally, the smartphone is integrated with Acer’s Clear.fi media sharing system that allows users to access, play and share multimedia content across the home network and immediately publish updates on social media networks.
The Acer Iconia Smart S300 will be available at leading electronic retail stores in India and is priced at Rs. 28,990.
