The Acer Iconia B1 has been confirmed by the company, along with the price in India, increasing the competition in the tablet category. The device took a leap at the CES 2013 and even though the cost stares buyers in the face, the release date information is yet unclear.
Acer plans to roll out the Iconia B1 with a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display through which, users should be able to view content at a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. The slate has been built to stand 197.4mm tall, 128.5mm wide and 11.3mm thick. Since it runs Android 4.1, users can gain access to a host of apps through the Google Play store.
The OS may speak in favor of the slab, but ardent photographers may not find the device so ideal. The inbuilt VGA webcam that can be found on the top right corner of the front panel solely takes up the responsibility of carrying out activities ranging from clicking pictures and recording videos to allowing live face-to-face calls.
An internal storage capacity of 8GB has been provided, which seems like a fair trade in itself. However, a microSD card slot has been engraved to permit expansion of up to 32GB for those who might find the inbuilt hoarding space insufficient. On the other hand, details pertaining to the system memory are still to be declared.
Speaking of what lies within the 320g device, the tablet is fueled by a dual core MediaTek processor pacing at 1.2GHz and it draws power from a 2,710mAh battery. The company also throws in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS to quench users’ connectivity needs.
The Acer Iconia B1 will be labeled at Rs. 7,999 and buyers might not have to worry about additional taxes. We’ll get back soon bearing the slab’s launch, availability and other such undisclosed details.
