The Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330, which was announced in July this year, is now available in India via a few online retailers. This device, powered by Android 4.0, carries along a capacitive touch screen but doesn’t feature a secondary camera which helps keep the price down.
The candy bar device has a 3-inch QVGA TFT, LCD display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240p. In addition to the touch interface there is a QWERTY keypad with rounded keys making it convenient to type. Its 850MHz CPU and 512MB RAM ensure a relatively quick performance index and 4GB of internal memory is provided which is expandable up to 32GB, thus enabling ample data storage.
The phone comes with a 1200mAh Li-Ion battery capable of about 14 hours on a 2G network and 5 hours on a 3G network, in terms of talk time. It is preloaded with applications such as ChatON and features the company’s TouchWiz UX user interface making it more receptive. There is also Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity, while Wi-Fi allows users to stay connected on the go.
A 2MP camera is fitted on the back panel and a host of useful applications such as planners and document viewers come in-built with the phone. Other apps include Google Talk, Gmail, Google Search, Google Maps, YouTube and the Google Play Store application.
The Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 price in India is pegged at approximately Rs. 8,499 via online retailers Infibeam and Saholic, while Flipkart is offering the smartphone for Rs. 8,699. And while the first online shopping website has it in black, white and pink, the other two give the pink version a miss.
