The LG Optimus G release date details are official, weeks after NTT Docomo hinted at the smartphone’s upcoming availability. One of the major highlights is its incorporation of a quad core Krait Snapdragon S4 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz.
As far as other hardware specifications are concerned, the handset sports a 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS Plus screen proffering visuals in a resolution of 1280 × 768p and a 15:9 aspect ratio. Leaning on 2GB RAM, it offers 32GB of internal memory to cater to memory requirements. For snapping up images and conducting video calls over the web, the phone shows off a 1.3MP front-mounted webcam and there’s a 13MP or 8MP rear-facing camera.

The device’s integrated 2,100mAh battery is expected to survive talk time of approximately 15 hours or standby duration of 335 hours. Built within dimensions measuring 131.9mm x 68.9mm x 8.45mm, this new LG handset tips the scales at a mere 145 grams. In terms of connectivity, it tags along Wi-Fi, MHL, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 HS, NFC and A-GPS. Feasting on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform, the phone extends support to 2G, 3G as well as LTE networks.
The LG Optimus G price and release date details have not been disclosed as yet. It is expected to be made available in Korea next week and will subsequently be rolled out to global markets in October.
