Lava Iris X1 Atom S low-end phone pops up for Rs 4149

The brand new Lava Iris X1 Atom S is an entry level handset for those upgrading from feature phones, and it can be purchased for Rs 4149 or lower. That’s a pretty good price point for turning smartphone users looking for a backup device into willing buyers. The Iris X1 Atom S offers some minor updates as compared to its predecessor which was released for Rs 4444 in April this year.

If you’re all right with getting Android KitKat on an inexpensive phone that should be perfectly capable of handling Lollipop, the Lava Iris X1 Atom S is up for the taking. It now comes with dual SIM slots for 3G and 2G connectivity. There’s more internal memory of 8GB as opposed to just 4GB, and 32GB microSD card support. Unfortunately, the RAM remains at 512MB and the display is still a 4-inch panel.

A 5MP camera with LED flash can be found on the back of the Iris X1 Atom S, while the front plays host to a 0.3MP one. For some reason, Lava decided to put a lower capacity battery in the new phone. You can expect about 14 hours of talk time on 2G networks, and 5 hours on 3G before you have to plug it in again. The handset can be picked up online or through offline retail outlets, says the company.
