Olympus Stylus SH-2 camera with RAW image support is here

A sequel to one of the company’s most popular cameras of 2014, the Olympus Stylus SH-2 has just been launched with a host of additional features under the hood. This new offering can shoot both RAW images as well as time-lapse videos, and it has even been equipped with nightscape modes for low-light imaging.

Just like its predecessor the SH-1, this new point-and-shoot offering too has been blessed with retro looks to amp up its visual appeal. The Olympus Stylus SH-2 is sure to grab the attention of serious photographers who want RAW image support without having to purchase a DSLR.

Olympus has sweetened the deal by granting the device 5-axis image stabilization. This feature moreover, works on both images as well as videos. Speaking about videos, they can be shot at 1080p full HD resolution at up to 60fps. Full resolution time-lapse videos as well as lower resolution slow-motion clips (120fps or 240fps) are made possible by this shooter as well.

The Stylus SH-2 is the beneficiary of a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor and a TruePic VII image processor. It grabs 24x optical zoom support, and even possesses Wi-Fi connectivity. This camera displays its visuals on a 3-inch 460k dot resistive monitor.

Its Nightscape Modes have been especially designed to offer optimal help in improving images captured during low-light conditions. While one of them supports portraits of people, the other helps with clicking landscapes. There are even modes meant for clicking pictures of fireworks and live composites during the night.
