Dropbox now woven into Yahoo! Mail, overcomes attachment size limit

Yahoo! has proudly announced its latest integration which involves Dropbox being interleaved into Mail. This could be another step taken by the company towards making the service as user-friendly and less time consuming as possible. With cloud storage being the new norm, it’s barely a surprise that the developer decided to capitalize on the tool’s increasing popularity.

Consumers will be able to heave a huge sigh of relief as the partnership overcomes the 25MB attachment size limit barrier. Instead of sending multiple e-mails because of the said impediment, they can now just forward data via a link after it has been saved onto Dropbox. For those who are still in the dark about the tool, it allows storage as well as sharing of documents, photos and videos amongst others in the cloud. These files are then synced across multiple designated devices. Since all the content gets hoarded online in individuals’ accounts, locating what is required will hardly pose as a problem.

And those who already have an account for the file-sharing utility should be in the know of most of its features and they can start making use of the integration without further ado. However, prospective consumers will have to go through a simple sign-up procedure. Whenever they come across an attachment that they would like to store, all they will have to do is click on the appended file and then tap ‘Save all to’ and consequently the ‘Save to Dropbox’ option. As soon as these steps are completed, instructions will be doled out to create a new account.

The latter mentioned selection allows users to save the item in the default mail folder and where more organization is preferred, subscribers will have to hit ‘More Options’. This will result in the creation of new folders. As far as sharing is concerned, consumers will have to select ‘Share from Dropbox’ from a dropdown menu. The action would lead to the Chooser box opening to display all the documents, as seen in the picture below. Customers then just have to pick the ones they want to attach to their emails. Files that are larger than the maximum allowed limit, can just be dragged and dropped into the mail but they will be sent across via the cloud storage service.
