LG Optimus G with Snapdragon S4 Pro available for Rs. 34,500

Even though the LG Optimus G E975 price had surfaced through a certain e-retailer in the past, it is now that the company has formally introduced the smartphone, pinning it at Rs. 34,500. As we can clearly tell, the retail value is much higher than what it had been expected to be tagged at, earlier.

Following the launch event yesterday, the Optimus G took the pedestal, wherein it established itself as the company’s first smartphone to gain steam from a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The CPU will be home to four cores, each clocked with a speed of up to 1.5GHz. Present within the phone’s chassis to deliver an enriched gaming experience will be an Adreno 320 GPU.

The 4.7-inch HD IPS touchscreen display, which has been drilled onto the front panel, will roll out pictures and videos at a resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels and it will rely on Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for protection from unnecessary bumps and bruises. Fittingly named, its Zerogap Touch technology thrusts visuals nearer to the display’s surface, increasing the screen’s sensitivity.

But of course, these attributes have already made their presence known earlier, together with the fact that the device will pack a 13MP primary camera grabbing an LED flash, a front-facing webcam with a 1.3MP sensor, a 2,100mAh battery and most importantly, a whopping onboard storage of 32GB.

The handset is mostly about the features which cling to it, intending to set it a class apart. For instance, QuickSlide seems to lay down a fresh definition for multitasking. Not adopting the multiple windows technique found in various Samsung devices, it endorses the use of transparent layers, the visibility of which can be tailored based on priority.

If this has managed to draw some attention, there will also be other aspects such as QuickMemo, to pen down urgent notes and Dual Screen Dual Play, justifying the inclusion of DLNA. We suggest users could watch out for QuickTranslator, SmartShutter, CheeseShutter and a feature which the manufacturer has codenamed SmartStay. The name sure sounds like the attribute brought in by the Samsung Galaxy S3, but will its functions be similar too?

The LG Optimus G can be purchased through Saholic as well as Flipkart with its old retail tag of Rs. 30,990. So those who did indeed find the smartphone appealing and don’t want to shell out that little extra buck, can bank on doing so through the e-retailers.
