Micromax’s and Spice’s Android One smartphones are supposed to be exclusive to sellers Amazon and Flipkart, respectively, but they’ve somehow managed to reach other eCommerce websites like OLX and eBay India anyway. Obviously, these online vendors aren’t authorized to offer the handsets in the country and they could just be placeholder listings.
Both devices went on sale just yesterday afternoon, so it’s impossible for someone to have them already. These sellers probably expected the handsets to be in high demand and go out of stock like the Moto E and a couple of Xiaomi handsets did. This way, they’d order a few units and be able to earn a fast buck by offering them at higher prices.
Unfortunately for them, the Micromax Canvas A1 and Spice Dream Uno are still available online. The former phone can be found on OLX where it’s selling at Rs 6700 and above, which is just Rs 300 more than the official retail tag. The latter handset on the other hand, is listed on eBay with prices of Rs 6999 and Rs 7999.

The listings also say that the smartphones are brand new and sealed. Shockingly, the Karbonn Sparkle V which is third member of the Android One lineup hasn’t received the same treatment. The new phones are part of Google’s initiative to drive sales of affordable and up-to-date smartphones. The search giant will directly deliver software updates over the air.
