Philips Mobiles aims for the top position, launches 4 Android smartphones

Philips Mobiles has decided to re-enter India with an eye on the top slots and a range of new Android handsets that have been affixed with interesting price tags. Of the four smartphones that have been revealed, three will be made available soon whereas the fourth one will be released next month.

First amongst the Philips Mobiles smartphones is named the W6610 and is priced at 20,650. What makes it worthy of that tag is a 5-inch qHD display, 1GB worth of RAM and a 1.3GHz quad core processor. This device runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and captures photographs and videos using an 8MP rear snapper. It grabs a huge 5300mAh battery as well.

The Philips W3500 will be sold for Rs 16,195, and will offer the benefits of a 5-inch FWVGA display. It will be fueled by a 1.3GHz quad core Mediatek processor and 1GB of RAM. A 5MP rear camera, a 2MP webcam and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean form its other highlights.

And then there’s the entry-level Philips S308 which will go for Rs 8,290. It features a 4-inch WVGA display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and 512MB of RAM. Under its hood lies a 1GHz dual core MediaTek 6572M processor. This device too kicks in a 5MP rear camera, apart from a 1400mAh battery.

Aside from these three, a high-end smartphone named I928 is also on the cards from Philips Mobiles. It will come equipped with a 6-inch 1080p full HD display and a 1.7GHz octa core processor. A 13MP rear camera, a 5MP webcam, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with microSD support form its other highlights. It will go on sale next month and hence its pricing is unknown at the moment.

Adhering to the golden rule in the Indian market, all the above mentioned Philips Mobiles smartphones offer dual SIM support.
