The renowned climate gauging website, Weather Underground, has now made it easier for Android smartphone and iPhone users to check the condition of their surroundings with the release of its new app by the same name. The Weather Underground software claims to offer accurate in-depth climate information for numerous locations around the world.

This application is not restricted to big cities and metros as it provides localized weather data for small towns and cities as well. The software works through its network of more than 22,000 neighborhood weather stations that constantly update the environment stats in those areas.

The Android and iOS app touts to give users reliable information via its weather station network, satellite, animated radar and webcams. Smartphone owners are provided with hourly as well as 7-day forecasts with text summary in tow. Androidcentral reports that this application lets users tag certain locations as favorites, view severe weather alerts and even sign into their Weather Underground account.

The software can be particularly useful for those who are constantly on the move and don’t want to get caught up in unpredictable weather conditions. They can gain insights regarding the temperature, wind speed and direction, ‘feels like’ temperatures, dew point, visibility, pressure, severe weather, gusts and humidity of their region. Moreover, the app shows all the climatic data through a neat three-panel screen that makes for a pleasant viewing experience.
