A combination of two device genres, the JXD S7100 Android gaming tablet, recently made its debut. As the name suggests, it brings together the features of a tablet operating on Android 2.2 and a handheld gaming gadget into one sleek 7-inch body that sports a D-Pad and face buttons.

The S7100 could prove to be a delight for gaming addicts who can indulge in a variety of titles through the 7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen. It is incorporated with 512MB RAM and offers an internal memory capacity of 16GB. The newly introduced Android slate is capable of supporting various online, social networking and video functions such as MSN, Facebook, Skype, email, YouTube, TED Mobile and BBC News, among many others.

Users can capture pictures and videos via the integrated 2MP rear facing camera as well as the 0.3MP front facing snapper. Measuring 238mm x 121mm x 12.3mm, this tablet lends support to USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity options. It is capable of delivering 4 hours of continuous web browsing and 10 hours of music playback.

This tablet cum gaming device is powered by an ARM Cortex A9 CPU and features a Mail 400 GPU as well. For players to enjoy their gaming sessions on a bigger TV screen, it is embedded with an HDMI output option. The Verge states that users are allowed to play both touchscreen games and classic ROMs on this slate. Applications and various titles can be downloaded from the Apps center and game center by sliding the main interface to the right and left sides, respectively.
