Users enthusiastic about fetching mobile pieces in India may now fill their pockets with two new attractive handsets bundled with exciting features from Motorola’s portfolio. The company has just slid the covers off Motorola Backflip and Milestone XT720 phones in the Indian market. Sporting an eye-catchy look, both these smartphones are powered by the Android operating system and come equipped with a host of powerful features.

Dressed in a gorgeous looking body, the Backflip claims to be the first phone to flaunt a reverse flip. With this one in that little pocket, users can now easily watch movies, photos and listen to their favorite music. The friction hinge intuitively locks the QWERTY keypad underneath the device. The newly rolled out handset can impressively modify from an alarm clock to a digital picture frame mode.

Featuring a 3.1-inch high resolution HVGA screen, the Backflip enriches itself with the Backtrack touch panel on the flip side of the phone. Users can now effortlessly access various apps and widgets from the Android Market. For those in love with capturing their special moments, it includes a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus LED flash and praiseworthy storage capacity which can be expanded up to 32GB.

“Backflip maximizes multi-tasking with its unique reverse-flip design, making it as smart as it is social. With Wi-Fi capability, this 3G enabled handset takes ‘Smart’ in a whole new direction with its easy-to-use three way input through the touch screen, keypad and touch pad, remarked Andrew Morley, vice president for Marketing, EMARA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia & Asia), Motorola Mobile Devices.

Featuring a sleek design, the Milestone XT720 is powered with the Android 2.1. The enticing handset offers users advanced media, enhanced mobile Internet ability and a high-definition video experience. Sporting an 8 megapixel camera, it lets photography buffs seize their moments with unprecedented clarity and leverage their entire experience with 10x zoom and Xenon flash with a 720p high resolution camcorder. The device adorns a 3.7-inch touch sensor which has the capability to open around eight browser windows.

Integrated with Motorola’s touch UI, the handset further enables users to access a wide array of Google apps with utmost ease. The Motonav offers seamless navigation and helps users access multiple apps. Professionals can now also benefit with the ability of these devices to manage several accounts and document editing.

“We are taking the Android experience to a whole new level in India with the launch of our two smartphones Milestone XT720 and Bakflip. Milestone XT720 is one of the most powerful phones in Motorola’s current smartphone range. Slim, sophisticated and technically savvy, Milestone XT720 is a high performance device designed for those who are actively engaged in their work and prefer a phenomenal multimedia experience. With Milestone XT720, Motorola has taken yet another step towards broadening the horizons for consumers to create and consume media on-the-go. Intuitive software, large high quality screen, and output options make this joyous to use,” added Morley.

The stylish Motorola Backflip and Milestone XT720 also come with free access to voice guided street-level navigable MapmyIndia maps. The GPS navigation service can also be accessed for free since it does not require activation or data charges and can be used even without a SIM, thereby not depending on networks. The maps incorporated in the handset cover around 401 cities in India.

According to Motorola, the Milestone XT720 can be snapped for Rs. 34,990 (recommended retail price Rs. 27,490) while the Backflip will make users fork out Rs. 22,990 (recommended retail price Rs. 19,490). These handsets are available through select retail stores across India.
