Huawei Ascend D2 and Ascend W1 officially headed to India

The Huawei Ascend D2 and Ascend W1 have started being displayed on the company’s official Indian website, giving us a confirmation that both the smartphones will be hitting the country soon. Unfortunately, these devices are devoid of any price tags as of now, but expect the Chinese manufacturer to come out with these details in the near future.

The Huawei Ascend D2 was unveiled at this year’s CES in January, and had grabbed a lot of attention then thanks to its water-resistance and its 5-inch full HD monitor. This Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphone also houses a quad core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB worth of RAM. It has been sized by its makers at 140mm x 71mm x 9.4mm, and carries enough mass in it to tip the scales at 170 grams.

The phone reserves 32GB for storage, and hence doesn’t feature a microSD card slot. Its camera setup includes a 13MP main snapper with HDR and 1080p video support and a 1.3MP webcam. A big 3000mAh battery also finds its way into it.

The Huawei Ascend W1 on the other hand, is a Windows Phone 8-equipped device which has a successor already. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, it displays its visuals on a 4-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. 512MB of RAM and 4GB worth of storage memory are included in its offerings, alongside a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front snapper and more.
