Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 and JT-B1 rugged tablets reach India

Panasonic has just released 4 devices covering the Toughpad FZ-G1, Toughpad JT-B1, Toughbook JT-H300HT and Toughbook JT-H320HT. The company has a reputation for introducing rugged offerings not just in the mainstream consumer market, but also for other industries like healthcare, logistics, construction, public safety and so on.

With the new Panasonic Toughpad and Toughbook device debuts, it has only further cemented this image. The members in the latter series are handheld computers which boast of having their constructs built using the company’s TSA (Total Shock Absorbing) technology. The Marathon PM power management intelligence adopted by the two is said to ensure that people get at least 20 hours of usage time between charges.

Panasonic Toughpad Launch

Coming to the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 specs, the tablet runs on 64-bit Windows 8 Pro and offers an option to let users downgrade to Windows 7, if necessary. This seems to make sense if we’re looking at businesses which have yet to upgrade to Windows 8. The device gets its high out of a third generation Intel Core i5vPro chip and there’s a 10.1-inch, apparently non-reflective, HD touchscreen stretched across the front.

The slab is certified to meet MIL-STD-810G standards, survive 4 feet drops as well as flaunt IP65 dust and water resistance. Apart from the inevitable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, it also allows for 4G LTE or 3G Gobi services. Moving on to the smaller sized Panasonic Toughpad JT-B1, it is a chunk of Android fitted out with a 7-inch 4-point multi-touch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

FZ-G1

If potential buyers are wondering about how rugged it is, the manufacturer practically marks it with the same points as the FZ-G1, though tolerance of a drop of up to 5 feet is mentioned here. The tablet has been noted to work on Android, though there’s no word on whether it’s a forked version of the mobile OS. The rest of the key specifications it carries include a 1.5GHz dual core processor, dedicated GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and optional 4G LTE.

JT-B1

Though the Panasonic Toughpad JT-B1, Toughpad FZ-G1, Toughbook JT-H300HT and Toughbook JT-H320HT have already been unveiled, the company was rather reluctant about revealing anything along the lines of their expected price in India. So watch this space for updates on the same.
