The last pair of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones that we reported were the W205 and W395. Now the Sony Ericsson Zylo with Walkman and Spiro with Walkman phones are here for the music loving mobile buff. Though just for ogling at for the present. Each handset flaunts the human curvature design and an ergonomic keypad that is created with user comfort in mind.

The Zylo incorporates the Sony Ericsson Walkman music player that is supported by high-quality audio including HD FLAC format. Users can play their choice of tracks in the background while conversing on the phone. It is sold pre-loaded with sounds which let users pretend that they’re at work, in a restaurant or walking down the street. It offers Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Picasa connectivity. Other features encompass TrackID, PlayNow and the ability to upload videos to YouTube with just two clicks. The network capabilities span over UMTS HSPA 900/2100, GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 850/900/1800/1900 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900.

“The Sony Ericsson range of Walkman phones has seen tremendous success since it was first launched in 2005 having sold more than 130 million handsets to date – and we are still seeing a great appetite from consumers. Today’s announcement aims to satisfy this demand by making the Walkman phone range available to a wider audience,” cited Jenny Maltesson, Marketing Business Manager at Sony Ericsson. “By combining the best of the Walkman functionality with a myriad of social networking capabilities, Sony Ericsson Zylo and Sony Ericsson Spiro offer consumers the chance to access and get a taste of what our Communication Entertainment portfolio has to offer.”

Just like the Zylo, the Spiro integrates Sony Ericsson’s Walkman music player too. A press of a button delivers instant access to TrackID that opens up the portal to numerous songs. There’s FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth stereo connectivity that come with this device. Users can also download music from PlayNow or chat through SMS with conversation bubbles. The handset delivers users access to Facebook and Twitter. It operates within GSM GPRS/EDGE 900/1800 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 networks. It will be out in shades of contrast black, spring green, sunset pink and stealth black, while the Zylo will hit shelves in the colors jazz black, chacha silver and swing pink.

Sony Ericsson is slated to launch the Zylo and Spiro in select markets in the third quarter of the current year. Pricing details are yet to emerge.
