Recent rumors suggest that Microsoft may have bigger plans for the future besides Windows Marketplace. According to Engadget iMobile, Microsoft has apparently filed a trademark application for “OneApp” which is going to offer users “online retail store services facilitating the download of computer software for use on mobile phones, media players and other portable electronic devices.”
This could indicate that Windows mobile phones and devices like Zune HD are going to share not only a common branded app store, but the actual applications as well. Apparently, OneApp may include music, apps and various similar content.
Whether Microsoft is actually going to launch OneApp is yet to be confirmed. Microsoft is yet to launch Windows Marketplace. There are speculations out there stating that Windows Marketplace might be transformed into OneApp which will then be made available to mobile phones, media players and other portable electronic gadgets.
