The freshest debutante at the ongoing MWC 2012 is the ZTE Orbit. This gadget is part of the collection of eight mobile devices that are currently being showcased by the company at the event in Barcelona. The suite includes other smartphones such as the ZTE Era, ZTE PF200 and N910.

The handset is noted to be the second device from ZTE’s stable to run on the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango mobile platform after the ZTE Tania, which had been announced last month. Providing users with 4GB of internal storage memory space, it comes equipped with a 5MP rear facing primary camera featuring LED flash and autofocus.

“The Windows Phone platform is as powerful as it is intuitive, enabling us to create and deliver exciting new devices that meet real consumer demand,” commented He Shiyou, Executive Vice President and Head of the Terminal Division of ZTE. “Our partnership with Microsoft is a key component of our strategy to grow our share of the smartphone market. ZTE is proud to be at the forefront of device manufacturers who are using the Windows Phone platform.”

This ZTE mobile device sports a 4-inch 800 x 480p resolution touchscreen display and is powered by a 1GHz single core Qualcomm processor. As far as the form factor is concerned, it looks similar to the ZTE Tania and also possesses 512MB of RAM.

Although exact details regarding the ZTE Orbit release date and price have not yet been disclosed, it is slated to commence shipping sometime in the second quarter of 2012.
