With the ZTE Nubia Z5 price marked out, China has stood spectator to the launch of the company’s first smartphone flaunting a full HD screen. On the other hand, there are no details regarding its release date for the US at present.
According to Unwired View, the Nubia Z5 is all set to take on the HTC Butterfly (a global version of the Droid DNA) with a similar 5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 touchscreen display. Besides being encased in an aluminum chassis, it weighs merely 126 grams and measures 138mm x 69.2mm x 7.6mm in dimensions. The OEM seems to have gone pleasingly overboard as far as the camera is concerned, by fitting a 13MP snapper on the flip side and a 2MP webcam onto the front panel.
Enough said about the external appearance. A 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2GB of RAM is responsible the handset’s multitasking prowess. As of now the gadget is based on the Android 4.1.1 or Jelly Bean platform. Going by the specs, future software upgrades may not be a problem.
For storage purposes, the device offers 32GB of internal memory. Since it is considered to be a high-end phone, it naturally won’t miss out on the connectivity features. With Wi-Fi and 3G, users have access to web browsing. Bluetooth and NFC have also been included to enable wireless sharing of media content. A 3,000mAh battery powers the smartphone to keep it running smoothly between charges.
The ZTE Nubia Z5 has been put up for sale at a price of ¥3,456, which sums up to roughly $555. It has been made available in colors of black and white. There’s a certain buzz regarding a variant that will be drenched in titanium. However, buyers will have to shell out ¥7,890 to take it home.
