Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet is gearing up for an October release

The Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet is arriving soon in India and if the reports doing the rounds on the web are to be believed, it could be as early as next month. About a week ago, Nvidia had announced its Tegra Note platform for slates and had revealed that Xolo will be one of the companies who will be introducing a device based on it. And it is already here.

The guys over at Gizmodo India have reported that the Xolo Play will be the first gadget to make the most of the said reference design. It shows off a rubberized finish on the back and adopts a compact form factor with a 7-inch wide-angle touchscreen in the front. There’s DirectStylus support as well that should highly simplify navigation between various applications in the device.

This device’s internal working is carried out under the supervision of the quad core Tegra 4 processor that has an extra battery-saving core that helps optimize the power life of the gadget. Dual stereo speakers are situated on the front panel, which work in conjunction with Nvidia’s PureAudio technology to reproduce enhanced-quality sound.

As for the graphics, the gaming device should render great visuals as a 72-core GeForce GPU has been placed under the hood. Apart from a stylus, the Xolo Play tablet will be accompanied by a flip cover that doubles up as a stand to prop the slate up on a flat surface. It can be connected to Bluetooth-enabled controllers as well, for a console-quality gaming experience.

While the exact price of the Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet has not been revealed, it is likely to set users back by Rs 16,999.

Update: Smugmug’s Camera Awesome application that was exclusively available for iOS gadgets, has also been pre-loaded on this Xolo tablet.
