Wyse Technology, a worldwide leader and the inventor of cloud client computing has released the public beta of its Wyse PocketCloud application for the Android OS. The Wyse PocketCloud has been one of the most widely accepted mobile remote desktop applications that empower consumers to access Windows PCs, Remote Desktop Services and virtualized desktop infrastructures working on the Microsoft RDP protocol. The app was originally unraveled for the iPhone in August 2009 and now touts on being ‘one of the Top 10 Business Applications’ on Apple’s App Store.

The Wyse PocketCloud application is VMware Ready Certified for VMware View that is present for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The app integrates seamlessly into a previously-established VMware View host environment, and includes an integrated enterprise-level security, which does not call for any special setup or software to be installed. It endows users with a facility to remotely run their PC desktop or virtual desktop from a myriad of hosts, consisting of Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, Windows XP Pro, VMware View, Windows Vista, Business Enterprise & Ultimate and Remote Desktop Services in all Windows Server products.

The PocketCloud app from Wyse is customized to run on major Android devices including the Motorola Droid, HTC Incredible, Google Nexus One, HTC Hero and Sprint HTC EVO. It supports RDP 7 and VMware View 4, the certificate of the VMware is still pending. The app touts on offering quick, interactive and enjoyable user experience. The Wyse application sports a superior high-accuracy Mouse Touch Pointer, plus a custom keyboard equipped with function and short-cut keys coupled with automatic keyboard activation.

Wyse’s latest app proffers a dynamic compression system optimized for 3G and Wi-Fi connections. It is also equipped with remote app scrolling that enables scrolling within MS Word or PowerPoint. The app endows 128-bit encryption and FIPS support to offer its users with enterprise grade security. It enables direct connections and sophisticated tunneling with TLS/SSL encryption. The PocketCloud app carries an experimental support for RSA Two-Factor Authentication.

The Wyse PocketCloud Beta can now be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
