Windows Phone 7 to get major ‘Mango’ update in August or September?

Windows Phone 7 With smartphones receiving a firmware upgrade through their manufacturers, it seems to have become the latest trend among mobile phone companies. ZD Net has now reported that Microsoft is expected to introduce the first major update to the Windows Phone 7 platform in August or September of 2011.

The recent talks about a minor upgrade in January or February of next year have also been put forth. The major update has been apparently codenamed ‘Mango’ and will eventually lead to a Windows Phone 8 revision which is entitled as ‘Apollo.’ This Windows Phone 8 upgrade is ostensibly set to release in late 2012.

Plausibly, the January/February update is smaller than the Mango upgrade. The Mango elevation may be named as a Windows Phone OS 7.5. The minor one is supposedly designed for the process about how Microsoft will deliver copy and paste to users. Mango is said to add the Silverlight run-time and HTML 5 support to the existing platform.

Hopefully, the alleged Mango update is confirmed about Microsoft soon for those anticipating an update.
