The Wickedleak Wammy Passion X smartphone has been released in India in the mid-range segment and if the company is to be believed, it is the world’s first true hydrophobic smartphone. Apparently, the device can resist not only water, but any other water-based liquid including orange juice, coffee or coke.
It gets the water resistant properties from the AquaProtect coating on it. The 3G-enabled device features dual SIM card slots, one of them being compatible with micro SIM cards. Its chassis measuring 141 x 69 x 8.95 millimeters has a black-colored front and a white-colored rear panel and it houses a 5-inch IPS OGS laminated touchscreen of full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution.
Under the display lies a user-friendly interface, thanks to the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. The octa core MediaTek MT6592 processor sprinting at 1.7GHz rests within the device and it seeks assistance from 2GB of RAM. Speaking of memory, it has 16GB of onboard storage which can be expanded further by up to 64GB with the assistance of a microSD card.
A 13MP camera is fitted on the rear panel and it brings a BSI sensor, flash, continuous burst mode, motion camera, voice capture, panorama and filters to name a few things. The company has also tossed a 5MP webcam into the mix along with a 2500mAh battery for a long power life.
