Following close on the heels of the news about the white Nokia Lumia 800 is the recent announcement regarding the upcoming availability of the white Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It is scheduled to retail in the UK next week, from February 13 onwards.

Samsung appears to have taken a shine to the ivory shade since it had also released the Galaxy Note and the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch in white colors, a while ago. The specs of the lighter version are the same as those of its black counterpart. The first smartphone to run on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the Galaxy Nexus comes equipped with a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display.

“After much speculation, we are pleased to announce the availability of the Galaxy Nexus White which follows the great reception the phone has received since it was launched back in November. One of the things we at Samsung pride ourselves on is the choice we offer customers, and we’ve enjoyed huge success to date by introducing white variants of our most popular models to our product portfolio,” cited Simon Stanford, UK and IRE Telecommunications and Networks Division.
