webOS 1.0.2 Update now available and SDK coming soon

Palm Pre smartphone Palm has undergone a turnaround thanks to the amazing Palm Pre phone that was launched just a few days ago. Palm’s first webOS went live recently. Version 1.0.2 is currently available and it will apparently bring stability to the Palm Pre along with a new alarm clock. It can be downloaded by going to the Sprint updater and downloading it in the OTA style.

Developers need Palm Pre’s SDK in order to develop third party apps. Most SDKs are based on traditional hardware programming languages such as C++. However, the Mojo SDK is unique as it is based on Web-page-design languages such as CSS and Javascript.

Unfortunately, this hot new Palm Pre OS is difficult to obtain. With the exception of a short list of preferred partners, very few developers have been able to get hold of it. According to Engadget, a general release of the SDK has not been announced as yet. However, the first applications have emerged recently.
