Vodafone to Improve the Network Reach in Trains

Vodafone coverage expansion Vodafone and Virgin trains have joined hands to improve mobile network coverage in UK trains. It is a known fact that mobile network in a train is mostly poor, but with Vodafone’s initiative, mobile users will have a strong reception while traveling in trains.

The technology used to transmit 2G and 3G signal is the Repeater technology and the same technology will be installed in 52 Pendolino trains that ply between London and Glasgow. Vodafone claims that with the new systems there has been 60% reduction in the amount of call drops while traveling.

As per the research done by Vodafone UK, they came to a conclusion that more than 70% of all workers talk business on their mobile phones in public.

The system is expected to be available in UK trains by November and since trains are a major medium of transport; uninterrupted network coverage would surely bring smiles on the faces of mobile users who have been complaining for a while.
