Vodafone offers free Twitter usage to customers for 3 months

In a bid to ward off the rising competition, Vodafone has been bombarding its customers in India with various schemes and with today come additional offers. Bearing in mind how Twitter has played a key role in letting people express their views in less than 140 words, Vodafone has decided on presenting every user with free access to the social network.

This offer is applicable to Twitter fans employing the micro-blogging website’s Android-dedicated app. And others who wish to make the most of this promotion can do so by logging onto the site through the native browser on their phones.

At the same time, this promotion doesn’t take into consideration viewing of external links, images, videos or any other media content. In the event that people click on a third-party URL, they will be entitled to pay extra charges depending on their current mobile data plans.

It was only last week that the telecom operator spoke of the ‘Be Smart’ project which involved educating the masses about the importance of 3G, following three steps. Then there was also that time when the carrier had launched a handful of roaming plans earlier this month. One of these permits free incoming calls for an entire day when on national roaming at Rs 5 only.

Coming back to the topic at hand, it seems that like all good things, free Twitter access offered by Vodafone too will come to an end. The service provider has indicated that this promotion will be at users’ disposal for a little over three months – November 1 if we were asked to be precise.
