Virgin Mobile USA rolls out LG Rumor2

LG Rumor 2 The LG Rumor2 made an appearance long back while it was offered via Sprint. The LG handset is now making news claiming that the QWERTY handset would now be offered by Virgin Mobile U.S.A.

The LG handset is said to be Virgin Mobile’s first GPS location-aware phone. Coupled with Virgin Mobile Navigator that features turn-by-turn voice directions and location-based search features enabling users to quickly locate nearby restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, and more, the GPS phone aims to offer premium functionalities.

“With Rumor2, we’ve taken an already popular, stylish phone and souped it up with some of Virgin Mobile’s signature add-ons to help our customers seamlessly stay connected anytime, anywhere. This handset also features Connect, our social networking dashboard solution with your favorite sites accessible in one place,” stated Matias Monges, Vice President, Mobile Devices, Virgin Mobile USA.

“We are bringing an iconic, proven messaging device into the prepaid space to complement our industry-leading messaging offers, giving customers a package deal of value and handset desirability just in time for the holidays,” commented Bob Stohrer, Chief Marketing Officer, Virgin Mobile USA.

The LG Rumor2 is inclusive of Virgin Mobile USA’s Ultimate Inbox solution for email and instant messaging and is offered to its no-contract customers. Users can stay in touch owing to Yahoo!, AOL, Windows Live/Hotmail and Gmail/Google Talk, as well as with IMAP and POP3 email support. The mobile phone sports a 2.0″ TFT QVGA screen as well as a 1.3 mega pixel camera. Just with a single click, users can upload images to MyPix album and post photos on sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and Photobucket. The device presents 5.5 hours of talk time and standby time of up to 7.5 days

The enhanced Rumor2 is expected to arrive on Radio Shack in this month and is priced at $129.99. Additionally, the handset will be offered at Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart by October.
