Verizon’s early upgrade program entices feature-phone users to go for smartphones?

Verizon Upgrade Offer Looks like Verizon, in an attempt to maneuver users into buying smartphones has come up with a pretty good plan. BGR reports that a new Verizon memo has underlined an early upgrade program for those users wanting to move from a Verizon feature handset to a smartphone.

Users may be entitled for such an offer and be able to buy a smartphone for a cheaper price, provided they meet certain criteria. This scheme is available in northern California area, central Texas, Upstate New York, and Ohio/Pennsylvania. Users are not eligible for standard upgrade and this promotion cannot be merged with other offers.

Moreover, users should not own a 3G smartphone. After this upgrade, they would not be qualified for another upgrade for a year. Users need to subscribe to Verizon’s $29.99+ data plan. Moreover, a 2-year bond must be signed when they purchase their new smartphone via the offer.

Reportedly, this scheme would be available at Sam’s Club and Target kiosks and in other select places. This promotion is designed to involve feature phone users into a more opulent and costly smartphone with the accompanying data plan.
