Verizon Navigation App

What’s the first thing that crosses one’s mind before hitting the road? Or do two short words like – ‘be careful’ keep on budging ears all-the-time? Well, this tends to happen with almost everyone. But helping users break such tedious-chain of thoughts, Verizon Wireless has recently taken the covers off VZ Navigator 5.0, the brand-new version of its map, navigation and local search service.

Helping users find their way around town, the latest offering is a GPS-enabled service that transmogrifies a wireless phone into an all-in-one powerful navigation and communication device. Searchers can now peacefully find useful information and discover new places and destinations.

Powered by TeleCommunication Systems, the VZ Navigator 5.0 bangs with pretty impressive enhancements to the existing service which benefits from location-based technology, including an updated, easy-to-use interface. The app ensures to offer improved Points of Interest, and the ability to run multiple VZ Navigator functions simultaneously within a navigation session. In fact, the service is now integrated with Facebook, letting users keep up with their friends, family and social networks by updating their Facebook statuses directly through VZ Navigator, with the option to include and share their locations.

Further, users can take advantage of Verizon Wireless’ Roadside Assistance service to send their locations to a dispatcher so help may reach them more quickly. Other noticeable features of the app include Traffic Crowd Sourcing, alerts for other road attributes, and Say it Mode – allowing users to verbally search for and update destinations.

VZ Navigator 5.0 will be available on select smartphones and handsets, including the Blackberry Curve 8530, LG enV Touch, HTC Touch Pro, and Samsung Omnia. Users will have to shell out $9.99 a month for unlimited access or $2.99 for a one-day use on certain devices.
