The Verizon Wireless new iPad is ready for an official March 16 release. Apart from this network carrier, the Apple handheld device is expected from service provider AT&T on the same date.

The latest iPad was introduced last week on March 7. Successor to the first two slates by the company, it offers Wi-Fi + 4G connectivity for faster speeds. Apart from this, it will feature a Retina display and the A5X processor as well. The release also saw a slash in the prices of the second generation iPad.

“Customers have been enthusiastic over the iPad on our 3G network and we expect even more excitement for the new iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network,” expressed Tami Erwin, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless. “With more and more customers depending on their iPad for business, as well as personal use, it is important that they have a network that delivers high speed and reliability, nationwide.”

Available in colors options of black or white, the tablet is being proffered in three varying memory capacities which include 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Embedded with a 5MP iSight camera, the gadget is capable of shooting 1080p full HD videos. In addition to this, the battery is said to survive for up to 10 hours of use.

The Verizon Wireless new iPad prices for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions are $629, $729 and $829, respectively. Starting March 16, it can be picked with a monthly 4G LTE plan, sans any term commitment.
