The Motorola Droid 3 smartphone finally appears on Verizon and this time it’s official. It’s been long coming if we may call it so, with the handset managing to keep enthusiasts engaged in only leaked images so far.

This latest Droid entrant will feature a dual core 1GHz processor, 4”qHD display, a 5-row slide out QWERTY keyboard, 16GB of internal memory, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, webkit 5 HTML browser with Adobe Flash 10.1, Wi-Fi b/g/n and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also has an 8 MP camera with 1080p capture capabilities, auto focus, face recognition and weighs 5.9 ounces.

What’s more, the smartphone is said to be running Android 2.3 OS along with the latest version of the Motorola application platform featured with a ‘Mirror mode’ for users to share photos, videos and movies on a larger TV via HDMI. There’s also an advanced security policy in place, with encryption to the device and SD card. Quickoffice for viewing and editing documents and presentations should further make the phone enterprise-ready.

Motorola Droid 3 is available from Verizon priced at $200 with a two-year contract.
