UK Samsung Galaxy S owners can upgrade to Android 2.2 by early November

Samsung Galaxy S Just a couple of weeks back, we had penned a post pertaining to the upcoming upgrade of Samsung Galaxy S to the highly awaited Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. Well, Samsung UK has enunciated that the update will be out by early November. It is currently being tested by several UK carriers and then it will hit the streets.

“Samsung are committed to providing our customers with the best possible mobile experience, and this upgrade enhances the incredible features of the Galaxy S handset,” said Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland. “We also want the upgrade process to be simple and hassle-free for customers, hence the new version of our Kies software and the step-by-step video guides.”

This new upgrade brings users an enhanced browser performance with better navigation and pinch to zoom functionality. An improved user interface including vibrant colors and added features to the Android menu structure can be expected by Samsung Galaxy S owners. Moreover, it offers augmented user experience with quick message editing and the facility to save apps on the smartphone’s memory card.

In order to avail the Android 2.2 upgrade, users will have to access Samsung’s in-house software upgrade program, Kies that has been recently updated to a brand new version. The latest Kies can be downloaded from samsungmobile.co.uk. The company anticipates that all the operator versions will be tested and download-ready by end of November.
