There are loads of games featured in the Apple App Store which fall under various categories and appeal to different age groups as well. Inventor Dan Zen has now formulated a new offering entitled Touchy for the iPhone. Also known as Touchy: the Twister of the Twenties, this app provides users with enjoyable social and physical play. The software doesn’t need to be paired with an Internet connection and hence is highly portable in nature.

The game requires players to physically touch screens of the opponents while keeping their own away from their friends. There is a target for each handset and timer which must be activated simultaneously by all players. Points are lost every time someone manages to touch the screen while the winner is crowned depending on the number of points left when the time is up. The player handicap and duration can also be set as per desired.

“Most, if not all, mobile games are played in the device and it is refreshing to see players interact physically in a social manner with the aid of technology”, commented inventor Dan Zen. Touchy can be enjoyed by children, parents, executives at conferences and even at night clubs. He however reveals that teenagers will make the most use of this app.

The Touchy Facebook page features the Touchy Duel application which allows gamers to challenge their friends to a Touchy game. Besides unveiling across the iPhone, the software can also be availed of by iPad and iPod touch owners. Requiring iOS 2.0 or later, the game takes up 0.2MB space in the device.

Touchy 1.1 can be downloaded for a price of $0.99 through the Apple App Store.
