TomTom iPhone App The renowned TomTom navigation app for the iPhone now gets a facelift. The app is blessed with several innovative features that would make navigation simpler.

The updated version is submitted to Apple for review and is awaiting their approval. The TomTom navigation app will now feature advanced lane guidance offering additional clarity to drivers when navigating difficult junctions. This functionality is offered in both landscape and portrait mode.

Current and future customers of our application for the iPhone can count on more great updates from TomTom for free,” mentioned Benoit Simeray, TomTom’s senior vice president, On-board Mobile.

The Text-to-speech feature allows motorists to concentrate on the road by reading out the street names and places aloud, as part of spoken instructions. Further, ‘Help Me’ offers direct access to emergency numbers as well as directions to the nearest emergency providers. The updated version also presents customizable audio warnings when approaching safety cameras or driving over the speed limit, enhancing driver safety.

With the iPod player control capability, users can manage the music from within the application. This update will be made available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand.
