Tata Indicom offers SMS Express for pre-paid customers

Mobile service operators are introducing new economical schemes to attract customers. Tata Indicom has introduced its new ‘SMS Express’ plan for pre-paid customers. The plan offers 100 free SMSes per day, for a period of 60 days combined with an Alcatel OT-255C handset.

Customers have to buy the ‘SMS Express’ handset and the First Recharge Voucher (FRV) for the offer. The FRV offers them a talk time of Rs. 29. After utilizing the free SMSes, users will be charged 50 paisa per SMS and 1 paisa/second for all national calls. A free starter kit will be available with the purchase of the plan.

The Alcatel OT-255C is a stylish QWERTY handset that comes with a Quick SMS launch key and opens a SMS composer screen to type long SMSes up to 1024 characters. It has a built-in FM radio and has a storage capacity of 500 SMSes with 500 phonebook contacts. Users can pick the device in titanium grey or cherry red.

The SMS Express handset is priced at Rs. 1149 and the First Recharge Voucher for Rs. 55.
