The surging popularity of SNSs on portable devices says a lot about our increasing needs to stay connected wherever, whenever. T-Mobile’s Social Buzz is one such platform that allows users to gain enhanced communication experience. The company has added the iSkoot Kalaida platform in some of its selected handsets. With the integration of this service, users can connect live to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter effortlessly.

This cloud-based platform gives an opportunity to wireless operators and OEMs globally to merge web-based services into their consumer offerings. Kalaida examines the network process and enables users to activate various services at one point of time without affecting the device’s performance or battery life.

The platform alerts users of new mails, chat sessions, social network activities and news items even though they are busy with composing messages, checking status updates and chatting with friends. This service when installed on handsets, works as a lean mobile client or an integrated native utility. It is delivered over available data connections and does not require any 3G of Wi-Fi support.

Mark Jacobstein, CEO of iSkoot, commented, “We know from our work with carriers and OEMs around the world that real-time access to social media has become a must-have feature for every class of mobile device. We’re honored to have the opportunity to help T-Mobile keep customers connected to their friends and family through their favorite social networking sites.”

For those uninitiated, Social Buzz combines all social networking sites into one application. Users can look forward to latest updates through pop-ups on their homescreen when not actively in use. They can either visit the sites individually or view in one assembled screen all the messages from communities. This feature presently runs on the Samsung Smiley, Samsung Gravity 3, Samsung Gravity T and LG Sentio phones. In the near future, it is assumed to be available on LG dLite as well.

The platform presently is available in the US, Europe and Asia and includes social media like email, IM, VoIP and more. This service is quickly expanding to support local preferences and add new services as users grasp them.
