T-Mobile customers will have yet another handset to choose in the form of the Samsung Highlight. Samsung now offers a variety of full touch handsets, the Behold and the Memoir being similar devices which were launched previously.
The handset features a large 1.61” x 2.64” touchscreen 262k TFT display, which offers a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The mobile device sports stereo Bluetooth and offers complete Web access through T-Mobile web2go. The touchscreen phone is built with a 3 megapixel camera equipped with 3x digital zoom and video capture.
The Highlight’s music player is compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ music formats. It incorporates A-GPS capability with location based services by TeleNav. The handset supports UMTS/HSDPA-capable (1700/2100 – AWS Band IV). The mobile phone is Quad-band GSM world phone (850/900/1800/1900 MHz). The device is offered in two color schemes fire and ice.
The dimensions of the handset are 4.27” x 2.11” x 0.54” and weighs 3.7 ounces. It includes a microSD slot of up to 16GB. The device offers IM support for AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger.
The Samsung Highlight is available for $149.99 with a two-year service agreement and a qualifying data plan, inclusive of $50 MIR.
