The Swipe MTV Slate has been launched in India, peddling an almost 8-inch tablet as it takes up the available title across the country. Clearly, Swipe and MTV aren’t through with sculpting devices in partnership and we can only wonder what else they have in store. The last we saw the two companies together in action was when the 7-inch Slash had made its presence felt.
Taking a look at the tablet’s specifications sheet, we understand that the slab packs a 7.85-inch HD IPS touchscreen spurting out visuals at a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the device conceals within its frame a quad core MediaTek 8389 chipset which ticks at a clock speed of 1.2GHz.
Judging by tablet standards, the Swipe MTV Slate sports a neat 5MP main camera, in addition to which there also happens to be a VGA front-mounted lens. In the event that users find themselves running out of the inbuilt storage space (which is 8GB by the way), they could turn to the onboard microSD card slot to increase the capacity by up to 32GB. The 400-gram slab has a 3,200mAh battery hiding under the flip side, while there also exists 1GB of DDR3 RAM.
Infibeam is the only online shopping outlet which seems to have stocked the Slate tablet as of now, pegging it at a price of Rs 14,999. However, interested folks have been given no options as far as color scheme goes, with the slab sporting only a white-hued garb.
