The February 5 arrival of the Sprint ZTE Optik tablet was recently announced by the network carrier. This 3G capable mobile device is Sprint’s first tablet to fall under the $100 pricing mark. Equipped with a 7-inch WXGA 1280 x 800p capacitive touchscreen display featuring pinch-to-zoom, the ZTE Optik runs on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS.

The upcoming offering comes incorporated with 1GB of RAM and provides users with 16GB of internal storage capacity which can be expanded up to 32GB through the microSD card slot. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the slate provides a suite of preloaded Google applications including Gmail, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Books, YouTube and Google Search.

Snap happy owners can take pictures through the tablet’s 5MP rear facing camera and conduct video chats via the 2MP secondary snapper. Lending support to 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR connectivity options, this forthcoming ZTE mobile device is pre-installed with a variety of exclusive tools from the network carrier such as Sprint TV, Sprint Music Plus, Sprint Navigation, Sprint Football Live, NASCAR Sprint Cup MobileSM and Sprint Zone.

The Sprint ZTE Optik price is tagged at $100 along with a two-year service agreement. It will be available from February 5 at all Sprint Stores as well as online at sprint.com and can also be bought without the agreement for a price of $350.
