Sprint Palm Pre released – Touchstone experiences shortages

Palm Pre smartphone After a long wait, the Palm Pre – Sprint’s first multi-touch phone is finally being sold in the US. The supply and demand varies a great deal with the region in which it was being sold. For instance, in metropolitans like New York, Sprint stores have comparatively large supply of as much as 100 or more whereas third-party stores like Best Buy and Radio Shack have relatively smaller supply and experience little or no queuing.

The feedback garnered after the launch revealed that Pre stock may not be as bad as was initially thought. Quite a few Pre buyers could pick up the Palm Pre with ease. However Slashgear states that the Touchstone charger has become the rare object as of now.

A successful launch means a lot to Palm and Sprint as both the firms’ businesses have been struggling. The launch has resulted in good reviews for the operating system. However, it has also brought up concerns about the keyboard and some small but important build quality concerns.
