Sprint Kyocera DuraPlus hitting markets on March 11

After debuting early last month, the Sprint Kyocera DuraPlus has finally decided to make itself available for purchase. This rugged and durable mobile phone from the manufacturer’s Dura series should be seen in markets starting March 11.

Meant for use in rough environments, the handset should survive a talk time of approximately 9.5 hours. Customers who demand more than this, can swap the original 1650mAh battery for another one which offers 2300mAh electric charge.

“Kyocera designed DuraPlus from the ground up with demanding industrial and enterprise customers in mind. Simple things like an LED flashlight, multi-bay charging, freestanding operation and the ability to use application-specific accessories go a long way toward better productivity on the jobsite and out in the field,” explains Eric Anderson, senior vice president and general manager of Sales and Marketing at Kyocera Communications.

Following its predecessors DuraMax and DuraCore, the DuraPlus will feature as a part of the Direct Connect range by the aforementioned network carrier. It has been certified to Military Standard 810G, which deems it resistant to shock, rain, vibration, dust and humidity, as well as extreme temperature conditions. It is also said to survive immersion in nearly 1m water for up to 30 minutes.

The Sprint Kyocera DuraPlus price tag reads $69.99 with a two-year service agreement after a $50 mail-in rebate through a reward card. Starting March 11, it can be picked from all sales channels of the network operator.
