The Spice Smart Flo Mettle 5X smartphone has been launched in India and the company has also announced that it will be introducing a couple of more gadgets in this series towards the end of this month. They will go by the names of Mettle 4X and Mettle 3.5X. As for the 5X, it carries a price tag that reads Rs 6,499 and is slated to go up for sale through Homeshop18.
So let’s take a look at the specifications of the Spice smartphone. As is pretty obvious by its price, it falls in the entry-level category and a couple of GSM SIM card slots have been carved into its chassis. The phone is basically a phablet featuring a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen of 480 x 854p resolution and boasts of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.
Unlike a lot of phablets which tag along a quad core processor, the Spice contender is satisfied with a dual core one. The chip can clock in a maximum speed of 1.3GHz and you get 512MB of RAM to go with it. Speaking of memory, you can even expect 4GB of internal storage that is easily expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card.
As for the cameras, a 1.3MP snapper acts as the medium for video conferencing, whereas an 8MP autofocus snapper with LED flash graces the rear side. There’s voice unlock feature and the phone is fueled by a 1800mAh battery. And that’s not all, the BBM instant messaging application has also been pre-loaded on the device.
