The upcoming Sony Xperia sola will be the first phone by the company to feature the floating touch technology. With this, users will be able to navigate the web by simply letting their fingers hover above the screen.

Dressed in attractive shades of black, white or red, the sola weighs 107g and its dimensions measure 116 x 59 x 9.9 millimeters. Considering the general understanding about the unusual name of the phone, translations hint at meanings like ‘one’ and ‘only.’ The front panel shows off a 3.7-inch touchscreen with Mobile Bravia engine, which displays images in a resolution of 854 x 480p. The internal storage capacity of this phone is 8GB out of which, about 5GB is accessible to users. The external hoarding space can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

“Xperia sola comes with the power of Sony and a sense of magic with floating touch, giving consumers a fun new way to browse the web and latest technology to show off. With Xperia SmartTags out of the box and access to the latest content through Sony Entertainment Network, Xperia sola is perfect for consumers looking for ease of use and the best in entertainment in a smart and innovative smartphone,” said Calum MacDougall, Head of Xperia Marketing for Sony Mobile Communications.
