After their recent announcement at the MWC 2012, the Sony Xperia P and Xperia U price and availability details have now received a mention. These handsets are up for pre-order at Clove and are slated to arrive on April 23.
While the Xperia P price is marked at £315, the Xperia U price is tagged at £199. Presently, the black variants of both the smartphones can be pre-ordered. As stated on the official Clove blog, the price and availability details of other color variants may be disclosed soon. The black version of the Xperia U features black or pink exchangeable caps, while the white one arrives with white or yellow exchangeable caps. The Xperia P will come dressed in 3 distinct hues namely red, silver and black.
Both the aforementioned devices are part of the Xperia NXT series that was unleashed just a few days ago. Following the footsteps of the Sony Xperia S, these two phones carry the company’s new Iconic Identity. This attribute is consistent with all handsets in the aforesaid series, which means that these gadgets will apparently stand out amidst the crowd.
As far as the main highlight of the devices are concerned, they all relish Gingerbread to the core and will soon be able to get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich. This upgrade is expected to take place around Q2 2012, as stated by the company. Notably, the functions of the phones are carried out by a dual-core processor clocking in at 1GHz. While the Xperia U sports a 3.5-inch Reality display empowered by the Mobile Bravia Engine, the Xperia P entrenches a 4-inch counterpart.
