Sony Xperia mini ICS update rolling out

Sony Xperia Mini 01

We’re of the suspicion that the arrival of Jelly Bean has made the big news of the Sony Xperia mini ICS upgrade look small. As for users of the phone, it could mean major overhauls to the interface and the handset’s functionality in general.

Taking into consideration the fact that there could be subtle differences in the software based on the product, country and operator, each unit has a unique 8-digit Sales Item (SI) number. Users need to take off the back panel of their handsets to find the SI numerals beneath the battery. Interested parties are required to verify if their SI code has been listed on the software table seen here. Only if the number is mentioned, can the concerned user upgrade the device in question through PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.

“If you find your SI in the released software table the software for your device is released and available in PC Companion and Bridge for Mac where you can update your Xperia Smartphone. We will continue to add items in the list as soon as they are released,” states a post on the Sony Xperia official support forum.

In terms of the main features of the Xperia Android smartphone, it shows off a Reality Display proffering images in resolutions of 320 × 480p. It houses 320MB of internal memory and the hoarding space can be extended via a slot provided for a 32GB microSD card. The device is integrated with xLoud for providing a decent musical experience. Going literally with its name, the phone sports a modest sized form factor and tips the scales at around 100g.

The Sony Xperia mini ICS upgrade has already been made available.
